A guaranteed income program meant to help struggling families in Harris County is officially over, following a legal challenge from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

The Texas Supreme Court issued an emergency stay blocking Harris County’s guaranteed income program from taking effect and releasing funds. One recipient shared how he was hoping to secure housing with the payment.
