Two recent shootings tied to Houston nightlife, including a deadly one in Midtown, are raising broader concerns about public safety at bars and after-hours venues across the city.

Conroe police say a man died after being shot in the head outside a nightclub early Monday morning.

Authorities said a crowd of people were outside the club when a car drove by and someone inside shot at the crowd, shooting about seven people, killing at least two of them. The motive is still under investigation, and the search for the gunmen continues.
