Eichel scores in shootout, Sabres beat Devils 4-3

AdJanne Kuokkanen, Ty Smith and Andreas Johnsson scored for New Jersey in former Sabres coach Lindy Ruff’s first trip to Buffalo since taking over the Devils this offseason. Buffalo’s top free-agent acquisition assisted on two goals, tying Eichel for the team lead with nine points in eight games. Shenandoah Council budgets for energy issues, plans to file complaint against Entergy for outages
During budget talks the morning of Aug. 10, the Shenandoah City Council discussed frequent electrical outages in the city and what can be done to limit the number in the future. The council considered two options for replacing overhead lines in parts of the city. Peart said by doing so the city would be providing more reliable energy and theoretically reducing the number of outages to those neighborhoods. By having a dual feed, Peart said Entergy explained outages would be much shorter. Council Member Michael McLeod said the outages are ultimately Entergys responsibility.

Shenandoah City Council members detailed requests they would like to see in the budget this year during a June 26 meeting. The requests were held prior to a budget workshop that is scheduled for August and noted to be preliminary. Council Member Ted Fletcher put in a request for a Shenandoah fun card, which he said will be used to improve the quality of life in Shenandoah. The card would be used in a way to expand on the idea established with free trash services to city residents. Council Member Ron Raymaker requested a recycling program for the city be added as a recurring operation budget item.
