DeMille Award. While wearing an all-white suit, Fonda raised the Globes’ highest honor above her head Sunday before commending storytellers for their vital role in troubled times. She is the daughter of Oscar winner Henry Fonda, who died in 1982, and sister of Peter Fonda, who died in 2019. She launched IndieCollect’s Jane Fonda Fund for Women Directors, an organization aimed to support the restoration of films helmed by women from around the world.

Carl Reiner, beloved creator of 'Dick Van Dyke Show,' dies

It starred Van Dyke as a television comedy writer working for a demanding, eccentric boss (Reiner) and living with his wife (Mary Tyler Moore in her first major TV role) and young son in suburban New Rochelle, New York. The Van Dyke show is probably the most thrilling of my accomplishments because that was very, very personal, Reiner once said. Reiner is the father of actor-director Rob Reiner.

BEVERLY HILLS -- The Paley Center for Media honored five true television comedy legends: Norman Lear, Carl Reiner, Bob Newhart, Lily Tomlin and Carol Burnett. "It's all of us together and that really makes me happy," said Burnett.Burnett knows the power of the laughter. He's also been a part of hundreds of hours of bringing laughter to television comedy. "It gets you past those moments, those dark moments," said Newhart. 'Grace and Frankie' to end with Season 7

"We are both delighted and heartbroken that 'Grace and Frankie' will be back for its seventh, though final, season," Fonda and Tomlin said in a joint statement provided to CNN. They added that "we'll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we'll still be around. Fittingly, given the Emmy-nominated series' subject matter of women being routinely overlooked, the final season will also secure "Grace and Frankie" an important footnote in Netflix history. The sixth season of "Grace and Frankie" completed production this earlier this year and won't air until January 2020.

We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well! Fonda and Tomlin said in a joint statement to ET. The series received a 16-episode order for its final installment, meaning that itll cap out with 94 episodes and become Netflixs longest-running original series. The four series were among the platforms earliest slate of original series.
