Lawsuit details student's allegations against ex-LSU coach
A former student who accused ex-LSU football coach Les Miles of sexual harassment in 2013 sought a $2.15 million settlement with LSU and Miles, according to documents filed in a former athletic department official's lawsuit. The documents detailed the ex-student's allegations that Miles “groomed, sexually and emotionally manipulated, and damaged" her after recruiting her from an LSU sorority to work for him. “Making scandalous accusations does not make something true,” an attorney for Miles, Peter Ginsberg, told The Advocate on Friday after the documents were made public.news.yahoo.com

Kansas AD Jeff Long resigns after Les Miles debacle
Kurt Watson will serve as the interim athletic director as the school searches for both an AD and football coach. “We will immediately begin our search for a new athletics director. “But we are making long-term decisions on an athletics director and a football coach, and we cannot sacrifice the quality of a search simply for expediency. “I leave KU with a heavy heart and profound confidence that I have always acted in the best interests of Kansas Athletics,” Long said in a statement Wednesday night. “We made strides in academics, fundraising, facilities and diversity and inclusion, among other areas, and I truly believe the best days of Kansas athletics lie ahead.”

LSU's former athletic director recommended in 2013 that Les Miles be fired as Tigers football coach because of his behavior with female student workers. The school and Miles agreed to a settlement late Monday, just days after he was placed on administrative leave amid sexual misconduct allegations from his tenure with the Tigers. Asked whether Miles lied to him, Long replied: “That's debatable whether that was a lie.”“I can't really answer why Coach Miles responded the way he did,” Long said. His missteps in hiring Miles came after an underwhelming hiring of Dave Wannstedt at Pittsburgh and his controversial hiring and firing of Bobby Petrino at Arkansas.

Kansas places Miles on administrative leave after LSU report
Then-Athletic Director Joe Alleva's recommendation to former LSU President F. King Alexander is detailed in a newly released report into how the university handled sexual misconduct complaints. AdEarlier in the day, LSU released a law firm's 148-page review of how the university has handled sexual misconduct complaints. The report offers a scathing view of the resources and attention LSU has dedicated to complaints of sexual misconduct and violence against women campus-wide. Schneider found that LSU leadership “responded in a lackluster fashion” when officials who handled Title IX compliance requested more resources. Victims are “understandably reluctant to participate in the Title IX process because they fear community backlash,” Schneider said.
Kansas coach cleared of virus but skips West Virginia game
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas coach Les Miles has been cleared to return to the Jayhawks after his positive test for COVID-19, but out of caution is skipping the team's trip to West Virginia for Saturday's game. The 66-year-old Miles announced last week that routine testing had returned a positive test. “Coach Miles is doing well and has been cleared to leave isolation," Kansas team physician Dr. Larry Magee said in a statement. Miles isn't the only head coach to test positive for the virus. Alabama's Nick Saban and Arizona's Kevin Sumlin recently returned positive tests.

The Sooners' new starter is the first non-transfer to begin the season as QB1 since before Trevor Knight in 2014. One coach who could really use a win to start this season, though, is Les Miles of Kansas.

No. 5 Oklahoma still Big 12 favorite with inexperienced QB
The Sooners are still considered the overwhelming favorite to win their sixth consecutive Big 12 crown overall because nobody has dethroned them with Riley there. Purdy last year set school records with 3,982 yards and 27 TDs passing, leading the Big 12 with 306.3 yards per game. Conference play begins Sept. 26, the start of an 11-week stretch for nine league games before the Big 12 title game Dec. 12 or Dec. 19, if an extra week is needed. Since this is only TCU's ninth season in the league, Patterson technically isn't the longest-tenured Big 12 coach. Former Oklahoma State quarterback Mike Gundy is in his 16th season as head coach for his alma mater.
Big 12 media days: 'Horns down' hand gesture update, new KU coach Les Miles talks
Greg Burks, the Big 12 coordinator official, said it depends on when and where an opposing player flashes the hand signal that is the exact opposite of the Texas Longhorns' "Hook 'em horns" gesture. STAY HOME CYCLONEMatt Campbell has never put much thought into being an NFL coach, even though several pro teams expressed interest in the 39-year-old Iowa State coach in the past year. "Well, my goal initially wasn't even to be a college head football coach," Campbell said Tuesday at Big 12 media days. He said these Bears are "the hardest, most industrious groups" he has been around, and work like other Big 12 teams. "I did not make this decision, but I stand by it and see it as a right one," Miles said Monday at Big 12 football media days.
