Jeff Beck, a guitar virtuoso who pushed the boundaries of blues, jazz and rock โ€˜nโ€™ roll, influencing generations of shredders along the way and becoming known as the guitar playerโ€™s guitar player, has died. Beck died Tuesday after โ€œsuddenly contracting bacterial meningitis,โ€ his representatives said in a statement released Wednesday. โ€œJeff was such a nice person and an outstanding iconic, genius guitar player โ€” there will never be another Jeff Beck,โ€ Tony Iommi, guitarist for Black Sabbath wrote on Twitter.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience was already scheduled to perform a show in Honolulu the next day, but they did this free, two-set afternoon show for a record. Directed by John McDermott, the full-length documentary tells the whole strange tale of the island adventure and the film Rainbow Bridge. But there was another problem, and a big one: Six weeks after the concert, Jimi Hendrix was dead. When Rainbow Bridge came out almost a full year later, it was marketed as a Jimi Hendrix project.
