The Innocence Project of Texas, a non-profit dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals, expressed concerns over the Missouri City Police Department's decision to discard evidence after a water leak, which affected around 100 cases, including felonies.

A Texas man was declared innocent by the state’s Court of Criminal Appeals Wednesday after he was convicted in 1983 for the murder of Father Patrick Ryan and was sentenced to 38 years in prison.
