Myers hits slam, Tatis leads the way, Padres top Rangers 6-4

(AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez)ARLINGTON, Texas Wil Myers hit a first-inning grand slam and the San Diego Padres, with Fernando Tatis Jr. again leading the charge, beat the Texas Rangers 6-4 Tuesday for a two-game sweep. Four of Texas five hits off seven Padres pitchers came in the fourth inning, including Joey Gallos three-run homer. Padres RHP Chris Paddack (2-2, 4.91) allowed five home runs in his previous two starts over 8 2/3 innings. Rangers RHP Lance Lynn (3-0, 1.11) leads the majors in ERA and comes off his first complete game since 2014.

(AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez)ARLINGTON, Texas Rangers manager Chris Woodard was serving a one-game suspension during Tuesday's game against the Padres a day after Texas reliever Ian Gibaut threw behind San Diego hitter Manny Machado following a grand slam. Gibaut was suspended by Major League Baseball for three games, appealed the suspension and was active for Tuesdays game. Padres manager Jayce Tingler said after the game that Tatis missed the take sign from third-base coach Glenn Hoffman. Before Tuesdays game, Tingler said he wont put on restraints on the 21-year-old who began the day leading the majors with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs.
