This law affects students from kindergarten to 12th grade, prohibiting the use of smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other personal communication devices in classrooms.

A Texas bill which would ban K-12 students from using cell phones during school hours has been signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott.

If the proposal becomes law, Texas would follow in the footsteps of several Democrat- and Republican-led states that have enacted similar bans.
