A grand jury has handed down a capital murder indictment against a man accused of shooting and killing an 11-year-old boy who was playing a neighborhood prank.
Gonzalo Leon, the Houston man accused of fatally shooting 11-year-old Julian Guzman during a ding-dong-ditch prank, appeared before Harris County District Judge Emily DeToto on Thursday, where his request for a reduced bond was denied.
We also learned that the suspect served in the Texas National Guard for more than four years.
Court documents have revealed more information about a homeowner who was charged with murder after allegedly shooting 11-year-old Julian Guzman, who knocked on his house’s door and ran away.
Investigators said Gonzalo Leon, 42, has been charged with shooting 11-year-old Julian Guzman, who witnesses said was last seen running from a house, after ringing the doorbell, "just prior to suffering a gunshot wound."
