A Houston official and a former City Council member are headed to a runoff for the vacant U.S. House seat in a heavily Democratic district.

Independent candidate George Foreman IV, an educator and workforce training advocate, says he’s running for Congress out of a sense of duty and a legacy of public service.

With several candidates lined up to represent the district, which has remained unseated since March, the results from the survey further demonstrate how heated the race has become.
