An emergency community meeting in Houston’s Third Ward brought together residents, civic leaders and elected officials — all united in opposition to a proposed gas station that neighbors say would sit just feet from their homes.

Three people were shot at a gas station in southwest Harris County in an incident that occurred early Monday morning.

Houston police are searching for at least three suspects who they said were involved in two robberies not even a block from each other.
