Dern’s win Sunday came nearly three decades after her first Academy Award nomination, a lead actress bid in 1992 for “Rambling Rose.” She received a supporting actress nod in 2015 for “Wild,” and has earned Emmys and a wealth of critics’ honors over the years. I say if you’re really blessed, you get them as your parents,” an emotional Dern said in accepting the trophy. This is the most important week of the year for movie theater owners
Columbia Pictures | SonyIt's the biggest week of the year for movie theater owners. Bagby said in 2015, the company made 10% of its annual box office during that one holiday week. Theater owners are particularly optimistic this holiday season because of the wide array of films that will be available. As of Sunday, the U.S. box office had tallied around $10.83 billion in ticket sales, about $1 billion shy of 2018's total. With a traditional holiday turnout, the box office should end the year just under 4% behind 2018.cnbc.com

Like, I really, really, really want to be a gritty, greasy toothed, kind of hairy woman with a wax linen skirt that crunches when she gets on the horse,” Pugh said.

Reviews For The Easily Distracted: Midsommar
It was also a critical and financial success, so expectations are high for his sophomore feature film, and Midsommar mostly lives up to them. Where Hereditatry was all shadows and murk and fell things lurking in corners, Midsommar is almost preternaturally bright. Midsommar is also, deliberately more often than not, a much funnier film. And the final sequence draws out so much it threatens to dilute the impact of the climax, when Dani and Christian's mutual indifference becomes something more malevolent. In the end, Midsommar might not be as popular as its predecessor, but it's no less affecting a viewing experience.houstonpress.com
