The 2021 Sundance Film Festival Awards were unlike any before and had filmmakers calling in from around the world Tuesday night to cap off the festival’s first virtual edition. “Hive,” from first time filmmaker Blerta Basholli, was awarded the world cinema grand jury prize and the audience award. “Writing With Fire,” a documentary about India’s only all-female newspaper, won the world cinema documentary audience award. The 2021 Sundance Film Festival runs through Wednesday.

This is the most important week of the year for movie theater owners
Columbia Pictures | SonyIt's the biggest week of the year for movie theater owners. Bagby said in 2015, the company made 10% of its annual box office during that one holiday week. Theater owners are particularly optimistic this holiday season because of the wide array of films that will be available. As of Sunday, the U.S. box office had tallied around $10.83 billion in ticket sales, about $1 billion shy of 2018's total. With a traditional holiday turnout, the box office should end the year just under 4% behind 2018.cnbc.com
Emma Watson says she's 'self-partnered,' not single

Watson, 29, who rose to fame as Hermione Granger in the "Harry Potter" films, coined the phrase in an interview with British Vogue in which she discussed the pressures of turning 30. The actor and activist, whose birthday is in April, said she initially did not understand the "fuss" that surrounded the milestone. Speaking of how she had never believed the "'I'm happy single' spiel," she added: "It took me a long time, but I'm very happy [being single]. The full interview will appear in the December issue of British Vogue and will be available from Nov. 8.
'Harry Potter' Star Tom Felton Shares Epic Throwback Video With Co-Stars on Hogwarts Set
Harry Potter star Tom Felton, who played the evil Draco Malfoy in all eight Potter films, took to his Instagram account on Monday to share the sweetest throwback video from the set of what appears to be the franchise's first film, 2001's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. In the clip, Felton and co-star Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) are playing a game where they're trying to hit the other's hands without the other pulling away first. Though Felton and Watson have recently been sparking romance rumors, ET reported this past August that the two are just good friends and not dating. Emma Watson helps launch legal advice line
The 29-year-old "Harry Potter" star announced Monday that she's helping launch a free legal advice line for those experiencing sexual harassment at work in England and Wales. "This advice line is such a huge development in ensuring that all women are supported, wherever we work." The advice itself will be provided by the charity Rights of Women, which provides legal advice and assistance to women. Parliament passed the Equality Act, which defines and outlaws sexual harassment, in 2010. Deeba Syed, a senior legal officer at Rights of Women, said the purpose of the line is to empower women to utilize their legal rights.
