CenterPoint Energy will increase electric rates by about $1 a month starting next year. The increase will gradually rise until customers are paying an extra $4 a month by 2028.

If you live in an area serviced by CenterPoint or Texas-New Mexico Power, get ready to see a higher electric bill this month. Both companies have raised their rates starting September 1st.
