New Commitments to Shell Houston Open
HOUSTON – Keegan Bradley, 2011 PGA Championship winner and No. 26 Paul Casey of England, the 2009 Shell Houston Open champion, are on the commitment list for the March 26-April 1 event at Redstone Golf Club – Tournament Course. Bradley, the 2011 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, joins 2011 British Open champion Darren Clarke of Ireland as the second reigning major championship winner in the SHO field. Casey is making his first appearance in Houston since suffering an injury during the pro-am round of the 2010 tournament. "We hope to finalize commitments from more high profile players in Miami," said Timms.
SHO Lands Graeme McDowell
HOUSTON – Winner of the 2010 U.S. Open, McDowell joins countryman Darren Clarke, the 2011 British Open champion, in the field that also features No. He also played in 2006 when the Shell Houston Open made its debut on the Tournament Course. McDowell, or "G-Mac" as he is known on the European Tour, has actually played in another Shell Houston Open. Defending SHO champion Phil Mickelson won his 40th PGA TOUR event last weekend at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. "We feel very good that both Lee Westwood and Graeme McDowell, who are now PGA Tour members, committed to our event early."
