The Jacksonville Jaguars signed former San Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, giving them an experienced backup if they trade Gardner Minshew. Beathard signed a two-year contract with Jacksonville on Wednesday, giving the Jaguars an experienced backup if they trade Gardner Minshew. He started 12 games over four years in San Francisco, throwing for 3,469 yards, with 18 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions. That also makes him a potential trade option, especially with the Jaguars looking to rebuild under Meyer and new general manager Trent Baalke.

But Fulgham got past backup cornerback Dontae Johnson and Wentz delivered a perfectly placed pass for the score that gave Philadelphia an 18-14 lead. It’s a resilient group.”TAKE IT AWAYThe Eagles got their first defensive takeaway of the season thanks to a poor decision by Mullens. With the Niners in the red zone, Mullens threw a ball up for grabs while under pressure and Rodney McLeod came up with it.

Man accused of killing brother of 49ers quarterback claims self-defense

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The man accused of killing the brother of 49ers backup quarterback C.J. Beathard is claiming self-defense, according to his attorney.Michael Mosley is in jail awaiting a hearing next month.He's accused of stabbing and killing Clayton Beathard and another man outside of a Nashville bar last weekend.Mosely's attorney, Justin Johnson, says he is looking through security camera video from outside of the bar. "I may be wrong but I believe it's going to show Mr. Mosley was trying to get away from a crowd that might have been waiting on him when he walked out," Johnson said.C.J. shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, where he posted a photo album.Part of the caption reads, "Clay has the biggest heart of anyone that I have ever known."

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The man accused of stabbing and killing the younger brother of 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard made his first court appearance.Michael Mosley is being held without bond on two homicide charges. At the court appearance today, a judge scheduled his next appearance for January 7.Mosley surrendered at a vacant home after it was surrounded by officers on Wednesday. Police say Mosley fatally stabbed 22-year-old Clayton Beathard and another man outside a Nashville bar Saturday morning. Investigators say Saturday's incident happened after Mosley made an unwanted pass at a female friend of the victims' inside the bar.It spilled outside, and that's when Beathard was stabbed to death along with another man during the fight.Clayton was the starting quarterback for Long Island University and just finished his junior season.

Arrest made in murder of brother of 49ers quarterback

Mosley will be booked later Wednesday on two counts of criminal homicide and one count of attempted criminal homicide, CBS Nashville affiliate WTVF reported. Nashville Metro Police said Mosley surrendered at vacant home after it was surrounded by law enforcement officers. According to police, Clayton Beathard and several others got into an argument over a woman at The Dogwood bar. Around 3 a.m., the argument moved outside where Beathard and two others were stabbed. Beathard, 22, is the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback C.J.
