Mookie Betts had two hits and an RBI and Corey Seager homered in the Dodgers' 4-2 victory in the opener of their NL playoff Wednesday night. The eight-time NL West champion Dodgers capitalized early in a bullpen game for the Brewers and can wrap up the best-of-three series Thursday. “A walk is just as good as a hit sometimes, which we showed in the first inning,” Seager said.

The Cubs struck out 53 times during the four-game set. Brewers starter Josh Lindblom also struggled, allowing five runs in five-plus innings. In the fifth, Urias led off with a triple and Arcia followed with a two-run homer to put the Brewers on top 5-3. MLB releases pandemic-shortened schedule amid testing delays
The steady stream of players testing positive and opting out is leading to a growing unease that the full season might not be played. Theres a ton of players out there quoted saying this, but it almost feels like youre waiting on bad news, right? Youre waiting for travel restrictions to be shut down across the nation. Youre waiting for a second wave, where things become unplayable and sports take a backseat. MLB said it addressed delays caused by the holiday weekend, doesnt expect them to continue and commended teams for canceling workouts.
Springer's homer in 10th keys Astros' 3-2 win over Brewers
Springer homered to start the inning and lifted the Houston Astros to a 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. Springer's 30th homer came off reliever Junior Guerra (8-5) and put the Astros ahead. Grandal's opposite-field shot to left, his 22nd homer of the season, gave the Brewers a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Besides Grandal's homer, only one ball struck by Brewers batters left the infield.
