Black ice, snow showers and fog are pestering post-holiday travelers in the Midwest, while the Northeast is gearing up for its first major snowstorm of the season.

After extreme winter weather conditions put the city on hold, Houston drivers back on the roads still experienced major traffic setbacks due to freezing road conditions known as black ice.
