A SWAT standoff in southwest Houston ended with a 17-year-old in custody after police say he opened fire inside an apartment. A mother jumped from a balcony, and two girls were rescued from a window.

Authorities with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office are at the scene where a man is barricaded inside a home in the Katy area.

The sheriff’s office said it started as a weapons disturbance in the 10600 block of Lyndon Meadows Drive, near Queenston Blvd.
