Online fall Broadway play revivals attract starry casts

NEW YORK – Broadway theaters may be dark, but there will be plenty of new online productions of some of classic plays this fall with some starry self-isolating actors, including Matthew Broderick, Morgan Freeman, Patti LuPone, Laura Linney and David Alan Grier. Producer Jeffrey Richards on Wednesday unveiled a weekly play run of livestreamed works to benefit The Actors Fund. They will stream on Broadway’s Best Shows and ticket buyers can access the events through TodayTix starting at $5. David Mamet’s ”Race" is up on Oct. 29, starring David Alan Grier and Ed O’Neill. Mamet’s “Boston Marriage” is slated for Nov. 12 with Patti LuPone and Rebecca Pidgeon.

'Clueless' TV Reboot Is in the Works, But There's One Big Twist

As Deadline first reported, the new Clueless project, set in high school in the present day, is being described as "Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video." A baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sunglasses-wearing, oat milk latte and Adderall-fueled look at what happens when the high school Queen Bee, Cher, disappears and her lifelong No. The project, from executive producer Corinne Brinkerhoff, Tiffany Grant and original film producer Robert Lawrence, is being produced by CBS TV Studios. The series followed Cher and her friends as they navigated the ups and downs of high school life amid struggles with relationships, school and social status.
