Stephania Jimenez anchors KPRC 2 News at 6 and 10 p.m. She believes local news works best when it asks clear questions, explains what’s really happening, and stays focused on how decisions affect people every day, especially when answers aren’t easy or systems fall short.

Stephania joined KPRC 2 in January 2026 from KSAT in San Antonio, a fellow Graham Media Group station, where she anchored the station’s flagship Nightbeat newscast. Over the course of her career, she has covered major breaking news and complex community issues, often returning to stories after the headlines fade to examine unanswered questions and long-term impact.

That approach was evident in her reporting following the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde. On the day of the tragedy, Stephania reported from the scene and raised questions about delays and confusion in official communication. Six months later, she led the documentary “21 Taken: Uvalde’s Path to Healing,” returning to the community to explore accountability, recovery, and what families were still facing long after national attention moved on.

Stephania is especially focused on journalism that connects big decisions to daily life. During a federal government shutdown, she reported how delays in SNAP benefits affected Bexar County, Texas families and highlighted local nonprofits stepping in to help. Weeks later, she followed up to show how financial strain continued even after the shutdown ended. Her reporting has also included extended coverage of the Texas Hill Country floods, where she challenged leaders during emergency briefings when critical safety information was delayed, and documented the long and difficult process of rebuilding.

Early in her career, Stephania was among the first reporters on the scene of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. That experience shaped how she approaches journalism during moments of crisis, reinforcing the importance of accuracy, calm communication, and helping audiences understand what’s known, what isn’t, and what comes next.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Stephania is bilingual in English and Spanish. She’s a graduate of Syracuse University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Textual Studies. She began her career as a producer and writer at Fox News Radio in New York City before moving into on-air reporting and anchoring roles in El Paso, Hartford, Corpus Christi, Philadelphia, and San Antonio. Today, she remains committed to journalism that brings clarity, asks tough questions, and helps people understand what matters in their lives.
