Get2Know: Astros' Yuli Gurriel

No description found

HOUSTON – A versatile defender and highly-skilled hitter, Yuli Gurriel is hoping to cap his second full season in the MLB like he did his first -- with a World Series ring.

Gurriel batted .291 in 2018, and finished second on the team with 85 runs driven in. He also smacked 13 homers and 33 doubles.

While that kind of pop means Gurriel will be part of manager A.J. Hinch's everyday lineup in the 2018 playoffs, perhaps his most valuable asset is his defensive versatility. During the 2018 regular season, Gurriel saw time at every position in the infield.

That should provide plenty of options for A.J. Hinch throughout the postseason, especially with the presence of sluggers Evan Gattis and Tyler White, who typically play designated hitter or first base.

If the Astros are to repeat as champs in 2018, it will certainly include another productive postseason from Gurriel.
