HOUSTON – The FIFA World Cup 2026 has already given us so many heart-warming moments and heart-stopping games that we’ll need months to review and comprehend fully. For Houston Dynamo President of Soccer and General Manager Pat Onstad, this week has been a full-circle reunion with the Canadian men’s soccer national team practicing at the Dynamo’s facility ahead of their Round of 16 game against Morocco.
Onstad, a Vancouver, British Columbia native, was Canada’s goalkeeper for 22 years and couldn’t be happier to see them playing in his home away from home. His prediction for the game is Canada wins 2-1.
Onstad hopes the 2026 Canadian team will inspire generations of Canadian soccer players who someday can accomplish the dream, bringing a World Cup trophy home.
