Rick Adelman, longtime Hall of Fame NBA Coach, dies at age 79

Adelman led 5 teams over 29 years as an NBA head coach before Hall of Fame selection in 2021

The NBA is mourning the loss of one of its true coaching legends with the passing of Rick Adelman on Monday.

Adelman, who was 79, served as Head Coach of five different NBA teams including the Rockets.

He led Houston for four seasons beginning in 2007 through the 2011 campaign and finished with a 193-135 record.

Adelman was known for his long and successful run with the Trailblazers before a short stop with the Warriors and Kings before landing the Rockets job.

After Houston he finished his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Adelman retired in 2014 and closed out his career with 1,042 wins before being named to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.
