HOUSTON – Stephen F. Austin cornerback Charles Demmings is visiting the Texans later this month in advance of the draft, per a league source.

Demmings also has visits with the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts. He has multiple private workouts with NFL secondary coaches.

A native of Mesquite, Demmings is a rangy, athletic corner at 6-foot-1, 193 pounds.

At the NFL scouting combine, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds and had a 42-inch vertical leap with an 11-0 broad jump.

An All-Southland Conference selection who intercepted four passes last season with nine career interceptions, Demmings decided to stay at Stephen F. Austin out of loyalty to the program over several lucrative transfer opportunities.

Demmings was a team captain who finished his career with 35 pass breakups.
