Source: Texans signing former Bears defensive end Dominique Robinson to one-year deal worth up to $4 million

HOUSTON – The Texans are signing former Chicago Bears defensive end Dominique Robinson to a one-year deal with a maximum value of $4 million, per a league source.

Robinson (6-foot-5, 275 pounds) is a 27-year-old former Bears fifth-round draft pick from Miami of Ohio.

He has recorded 62 career tackles with 3 1/2 sacks and three pass deflections. In 12 games last season for a playoff squad, he had 1 1/2 sacks,19 tackles and three tackles for losses with three quarterback hits.

Robinson played quarterback and wide receiver before shifting to defensive end in college.

He has posted 41-inch vertical leap, 25 bench reps, and a 4.72 40-yard dash.

Robinson played high school football at Canton McKinley next to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
