Texans secondary coach Dino Vasso (Houston Texans, KPRC2)

HOUSTON – Texans defensive backs coach Dino Vasso is interviewing with the Tennessee Titans for their defensive coordinator job, per a league sources.

Vasso, 38, coaches All-Pro corner Derek Stingley Jr. and Pro Bowl alternate Kamari Lassiter for the Texans’ top-ranked defense.

Vasso has been mentored by Texans coach DeMeco Ryans, defensive coordinator Matt Burke and Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.

New Titans coach Robert Saleh is going to run the defense as far as calling the plays.

Vasso, a former Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles assistant, was the Eagles assistant defensive coordinator in 2020.

The Texans defense ranked second in points allowed and first in fewest yards allowed this season, giving up 277.2 yards per game.

Burke did a Zoom with the Arizona Cardinals, per a source, but is not a finalist for the head coaching job.

Texans assistant general manager James Liipfert interviewed for the Atlanta Falcons’ general manager job.
