LOVB Houston begins 2nd season Thursday night with local talent on the roster

The match begins at 7 p.m. at the Berry Center against LOVB Salt Lake

HOUSTON – The League One Volleyball (LOVB) Houston team’s season begins on Thursday night at the Berry Center, which they have been patiently waiting for while training together the last few months.

“I mean, I think we’re just so stoked, the first season was so much fun with this group, I think we have a lot of fun competing together, a lot of fun off the court, just so many great human beings and we’ve had a few just amazing additions to the team and it’s been fun to have the whole group together finally these past few days and I think we’re really excited to keep building,” said outside hitter Jordan Thompson.

“I think we’re just ready to take it one game at a time, and obviously, the first one really matters for the flow of the season so I think just getting all the nerves out the first couple of points and staying really connected with our group is gonna matter and just take it one day at a time,” said setter Micha Hancock.

George Ranch High School alum Logan Lednicky recently won an NCAA National Championship with Texas A&M, and this week, she begins her professional career playing for her hometown team. So what’s that like?

“It’s so exciting, I mean, so many amazing things and moving pieces going on in my life,” said Legnicky. “You know, there was no professional league when I was here playing at Skyline, so this wasn’t even in the back of my mind, but now I truly love getting to tell my story, and it can really be you here as well in the future, and just kinda a testament to hard work and all the things that go into it.”

Thursday night’s home opener at the Berry Center will be against LOVB Salt Lake.
