Source: Texans promoting safety K’Von Wallace to 53-man roster from practice squad

HOUSTON – The Texans are signing veteran safety K’Von Wallace from the practice squad to the active roster, per a league source.

Wallace, 28, is a former Philadelphia Eagles fourth-round draft pick from Clemson.

The Texans later made this move official along with elevating defensive tackle Leki Fotu and offensive guard Sidy Sow. They waived cornerback Ameer Speed from the 53-man roster.

Wallace (5-foot-11, 205 pounds) has also played for the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants, the Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals.

He has recorded 168 career tackles and one interception with one fumble recovery in 71 games and 19 career starts.

The Texans didn’t activate veteran wide receiver Justin Watson after designating him for return.
