HOUSTON – The Texans are signing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Kaevon Merriweather to their practice squad, per a league sources.
Merriweather is a former undrafted free agent from Iowa.
He has also played for the Detroit Lions.
He was waived on Wednesday from the Buccaneers.
Merriweather (6-foot, 212) has 38 career tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery and two passes defensed in the NFL.
At Iowa, he was an All-American selection.
