HOUSTON – For Texans star wide receiver Nico Collins, ‘tis the season for giving.
The Pro Bowl selection hosted a shopping spree for 10 athletes from Special Olympics Texas on Tuesday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Meyerland.

“It’s always important just to give back, just to see the smiles on people’s faces,” Collins said. “You never know what people are going through, but to see the joy in people’s faces, man, that’s my mission. That’s my why behind all this.”
The private event included a $150 gift card for each athlete with the NFL player giving them advice on what to pick out. Collins has partnered with Dick’s for several similar events throughout the region, including at their location in The Woodlands last summer.
“It really pushes you to continue to give back,” Collins said. “Just to see how happy they are when they pick whatever they want, just get clothes and things like that, it really brings joy to my heart.
“It’s a blessing, man. I’m really thankful for Dick’s for giving me the opportunity to come back and give back.”
