KPRC 2 Athlete of the Week: Memorial Outfielder Will Van Wie
HOUSTON – Memorial star senior outfielder Will Van Wie is the KPRC 2 and UTMB Health Athlete of the Week. Van Wie is the 3-hole hitter and leader of the offense for a highly ranked Mustangs team, who made it to the Regional Semifinal round in the UIL 6A playoffs.
“Great kid, great teammate,” said head coach Jeremy York. “He hits in our three hole and anything in the outfield he’s going to go catch.”
“Our pitchers go out there and show up and it’s given us as hitters go out there with confidence and it’s helped me play to my best,” said Van Wie.
