HOUSTON – The Texans are signing veteran defensive end Casey Toohill to a one-year, $1.337 million contract, per a league source.
The deal includes a $52,500 signing bonus, up to $100,000 available in $5,882 per game active roster bonuses, a $1.17 million base salary and a salary cap figure of $1.18 million under the NFL veteran minimum salary benefit.

Toohill played for the Buffalo Bills last season.
His agency, Wasserman, announced the deal later.

He’s a former Philadelphia Eagles seventh-round draft pick from Stanford.
Originally signed to a four-year, $3.4 million contract, he was waived by the Eagles and then claimed off waivers by the Washington Commanders.
He played in 14 games last season for Buffalo for the AFC East champions and recorded 20 tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery and one pass defended.
For his career, Toohill (6-foot-5, 254 pounds) has 100 tackles, eight sacks, 21 quarterback hits and 11 tackles for losses with three forced fumbles.
