KPRC 2 Athlete of the Week: Cade Arrambide, Tomball Baseball

TOMBALL, Texas – Tomball senior catcher Cade Arrambide has been a familiar name to scouts for a long time, but gained wider attention after winning the Perfect Game All-American Showcase home run derby. Arrambide is ranked by multiple services as a Top 10 national prospect in high school, and ranked as the #53 2024 MLB Draft prospect by MLB Pipeline.

To Tomball, Arrambide is a senior leader who is hoping to bring another state title to legendary coach Doug Rush.

“He was always gifted,” said Rush. “When he came in as a freshman, he had to be quiet because we had a senior ballclub and they took him in.”

Over the past several years, Arrambide developed his gifts into tools that could get him drafted high. If he decides to go to college, he’s committed to Jay Johnson and the defending champion LSU Tigers.

“I’m a very vocal leader behind the plate, control the running game and be a big power bat who’s on base a lot,” said Arrambide. “I can work our offense around.”

“Over the years he’s developed into one of our two or three best leaders,” said Rush. “He’s a really good kid, hard work ethic, gets after it in the weight room. He’s really made himself bigger, stronger and faster and he’s really coachable.”
