HOUSTON – The Texans are adding reinforcements to their offensive backfield and defensive line

The Texans have agreed to sign former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway to a one-year, $4 million contract that includes $3 million in full guarantees with a $1 million signing bonus, per a league source.

Ridgeway, 28, has played for the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts. He’s a former fourth-round draft pick from Texas.

Ridgeway (6-foot-3, 305 pounds) has recorded 108 career tackles and 10 1/2 sacks with one forced fumble.

He played in 12 games with seven starts last season for the 49ers and had 28 tackles and one sack with three tackles for losses and four quarterback hits.

The Texans are signing former Denver Broncos running back Mike Boone and former Cleveland Browns defensive end Chase Winovich, according to a league source.

Boone is expected to sign a two-year contract in the range of $3.1 million, per a league source.

That includes base salaries of $1.15 million, $1.25 million, $300,000 signing bonus, $200,000 in annual per game active roster bonuses and $300,000 in annual playtime incentives, per a league source.

Winovich got a one-year deal worth up to $2.75 million, per a league source. The contract includes $1.75 million guaranteed with a $500,000 signing bonus, a $1.25 million fully guaranteed base salary, $14,706 per game active roster bonus with a $750,000 playtime incentive.

Boone, 27, is a former Minnesota Vikings undrafted free agent from Cincinnati.

He has rushed for 516 career yards, a 5.2 average and four touchdowns with 18 career receptions for 146 yards.

He rushed for 102 yards last season in nine games for Denver.

Boone is expected to provide depth behind Pro Bowl alternate running back Dameon Pierce.

Boone (5-foot-10, 205 pounds) rushed for 2,250 career yards and 42 touchdowns in college.

He has run the 40-yards dash in 4.4 seconds with a 42-inch vertical leap.

In 2019 with the Vikings, he rushed for a career-high 273 yards and four touchdowns.

Winovich is a former All-Big Ten Conference selection from Michigan drafted by the New England Patriots in 2019 in the third round.

He was later traded to the Browns in exchange for linebacker Mack Wilson.

Winovich has 12 career sacks and 105 tackles.
