HOUSTON – Just like most Astros fans, I'm like a kid in a candy store when I go to the team store at Minute Maid Park. There are ao many shirts and jerseys and accessories that make my eyes happy! One item I saw during my visit on Friday literally (okay, not literally) made my heart beat out of my chest!
It's a paperweight.

Okay, wait. Hold on... let me explain.
It's a GIANT paperweight of the 2017 World Series championship ring.
Okay, now I have your attention.
It is beautiful. It is big (the size of my fist). But it's on the pricey side. It will set you back $179 (plus tax).
I did not buy it (I really needed a Bregman jersey, so I bought that. Yes, needed). But I am seriously thinking about going back for the paperweight.
I have made a list of the reasons why it would be okay to spend $179 on a paperweight:
(1) It's very shiny.
(2) It keeps papers from flying off your desk. Duh.
(3) It could be used as a tiny bracelet for a baby. Just kidding. Sort of. (I don't have any babies, but I know people who have them).
Tom Jennings, Vice President of Merchandising and Retail Operations for the Astros, said the paperweight is one of their top-selling items. So, if you're like me and you're thinking about buying one, you will need to act fast.
BTW there is also a cool championship ring key ring if you'd like to make a smaller purchase along the same lines. That is $29 (plus tax) and Jennings said it is also a popular item among customers.
