Texans add Raye III to football operations department

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans have hired Jimmy Raye III to fill the vacancy left by Brian Gaine when he left the Texans earlier this month to join the Bills front office.

Gaine was the Texans vice president of player personnel and assisted general manager Rick Smith with personnel decisions.

Raye spent the last four season as the Colts as vice president of football operations. He brings 22 years of NFL experience to Houston.

For 17 seasons, Raye was with the San Diego Chargers organization, including four years of director of pro personnel and 12 seasons in the scouting department.

“I am so grateful and pleased to add the character, depth and experience Jimmy Raye brings to our group,” said Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Rick Smith.

“He is a highly respected, seasoned executive that will provide new ideas and a fresh perspective to our entire football operation. I look forward to working with him and we all welcome him aboard.”

The Texans also announced several promotions within the football operations department:
