You decide: 2017 Houston Texans cheerleader finalists named

HOUSTON – Houston Texans cheerleader tryouts were held April 1 at the Houston Methodist Training Center.

To be eligible, the hopefuls had to be 18 years or older by April 2; have a high school diploma or GED; have at least a part-time job, be a full-time student or a full-time mom; and be in good physical condition.

This week, the team announced that the field of cheerleaders has been cut down to 53 hopefuls.

It was free to try out.

Being a cheerleader for the Texans isn’t a full-time job, but cheerleaders are paid for appearances, rehearsals, game days and other hours.
