HOUSTON – It's an exciting time to be a Texas Southern University Tiger.
For the first time in the school's history, both the men's and women's basketball teams are going to the NCAA Tournament.
The men are facing North Carolina on Friday in Greensville, South Carolina. The women are staying in Texas to take on Baylor in Waco on Saturday.
TSU's Student Government Association President Justin Lee is proud to be a Tiger. "Our school is just continuing to create the spirit of excellence and achievement," he said.
A 16 seed has never beat a 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament but TSU fans have confidence in their Tigers.
The president of the TSU National Alumni Association has a message for all the doubters: "We're coming to get you! We're gonna give it our best shot. Look out for the Tigers!"
