Is the game over?

I must have missed the Super Bowl. How is that possible?  I turned on my radio and all the high dollar sports dudes were talking about  LEBRON and CHARLES.  So, I could only guess the Falcons and Patriots had already played.  Let me know if the game was any good.

I know how the sports talk thing works but believe it or not the NBA isn't having it's All Star break yet so quit trying to drum up interest before the real season starts. The one in June.

Same thing for college basketball. That season starts in 6 weeks. I don't care that 35 people paid to see HBU and Southeast Idaho Teachers College. Although it was a compelling match up.

Stats so far from the week leading to LI: 1,128 credential holders were inside Minute Maid Park for the first time and 978 of them applied for the ASTROS play-by-play job. A guy born in Houston got the job. Interesting concept. Using a baseball park for a football event wasn't a first. L.A. did it in the 90s. 453 reporters were sent a questionaire regarding the type of food they will eat here. 400 said BBQ.  53 said Mexican. I knew we had the Houston menu pegged early. Here's my idea for marketing a Houston restaurant. "We smoke everything but cigarettes."  I think it could work if we threw in a free mattress.

I also saw signs for buying and selling Super Bowl tickets. Don't buy one from last year. There are still some out there. I was laughing (but not too loud) about Mickey Herskowitz  hyping the First AFL-NFL Title game back in 1967. He said the major opposition was from people in Los Angeles complaining about ticket costs. The top seat went for $12.
