Daily Craig: Friday follies

Here are some notes I made for Friday. That would be today if you haven't picked up your 2017 calendar as yet.

Today is day one with a new President. It seems a bit bizarre but he hasn't put in a full day so let's wait a year or so to cheer or condemn. You have to give him as much room as a new baseball manager or football coach. Speaking of coaches, did you notice how the Texans have positioned themselves for an easy transition.? SOON TO BE head coach Mike Vrabel was promoted to Defensive Coordinator. Romeo was "promoted" to assistant head coach. Mike had to get a Coordinator's job or he could be flying off to another team quicker than you could say "San Francisco".

Billy O has 2 years left on his contract and by virtue of the promotions sets himself up as the fall guy. Vrabel must be astonished. Bill said he got tears in his eyes when he reviewed this past season. His top offensive threat, Nick Novak, really stood out. Billy will call all the plays next season. His "complicated" offense includes slants to the tight ends and sending Lamar off tackle no matter how stacked the opposing defenses are. Brilliant. A member of the Trump Team has indicated the Russians hacked Houston's huddles. I figured it had to be something out of the ordinary.

I am pumped for the Conference championships and hope at least 1 Packers receiver can recover in time to play. I like the Falcons too. However, I am going with the Bay because they have Aaron. I am going with the Steelers in the other game because they aren't the Patriots. A Packers-Steelers Super Bowl has an old school ring to it.  I just hope the Russians stay out of it.
