Daily Craig: Sweating it out

HOUSTON – I know it's really early, but I MADE MYSELF watch almost one entire Rockets game. They were in Cleveland and I guess I WATCHED to see how long it would take for LeBron to change clothes and head for the Indians game across the street.  I

n case you missed it the Rockets lost. The first loss in Cleveland in 5 years. Of course, they only play there once a season unless they end up against the Cavs in the finals. OK, STOP LAUGHING.

Once again Indian fans were ok with losing game six but only if they have GAME 7 TICKETS. The Cubs had a 7 run lead early and most of the fans figured game 7 was a cinch. It was brought up, however, the biggest LOST LEAD in W.S. history involved the CUBS. They lead the Philadelphia A's 8-0 after 6 innings in game 4 of the 1929 series. The Connie Mack A's then unloaded for 10 in the 7th to win it 10-8. The series ended 2 days later when the A'S scored 3 in the 9th to beat Chicago 3-2 and win the thing in 5 games.

I am sure even the most relaxed Cubs fans didn't think a 7 run lead was enough. It turned out to be a Cubs win and tonight it's game 7. BASEBALL THRIVES ON HISTORY but the Cub's weren't  interested in repeating 1929. The stock market guys aren't interested in repeating that year either.
