Daily Craig: Tale of two cities

HOUSTON – If you didn't watch the UH win over Cincinnati last night you missed some serious Thursday speculation. For one thing, ESPN carried the game and Houston fans couldn't have been more excited. In Cincy, a town starved for winners given the hopeless Reds and the playoff doomed Bengals, this was also a very big deal. I got the impression the winner of the game would not only be on a track for the NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP but would also get an automatic bid to the BIG 12. At game's end the  COOGS had a runaway win that ran away in the last 9 minutes or so. I assume they are now in the BIG 12.

Cincinnati must be close to getting a BIG 10 bid because aside from OHIO ST. and MICHIGAN the lads from the midwest could use some help. Cincy IS PERFECT for them. I think the COOGS are thinking small. They could easily be a big shot in the PAC 12 and would get much fancier road trips. Stop kissing the butts of the OU and UT high rollers and start planning taking the family to L.A. and Eugene. Not that LUBBOCK isn't attractive.

According to the people I talked to last night Houston is a shoe in to get a BIG 12 bid. I JUST THINK they shouldn't limit their thinking to ONE CONFERENCE. Hell, maybe the SEC would trade Missouri. I think that is a given.
