HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets search for a new head coach continued with an interview with former Rockets guard and current television analyst Kenny Smith.
Smith was a starter on the Rockets two championship teams in 1994 and 1995 and has been an NBA analyst since 1998.

He has no coaching experience.
"We had a first date. We had a good first date."" Smith told TMZ Sports of his initial meeting with the Rockets.
"I'm considering it. I'm interested," Smith said.
"It's the team I played with, but right now it's more about finishing out the season."
Smith will continue in his analyst role for TNT as they broadcast the western conference finals matchup between the Oklahoma CIty Thunder and the Golden State Warriors.
Houston has already interviewed several candidates including former Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek, Clippers assistant head coach Sam Cassell and Rockets assistant Chris Finch.
There are five NBA head coaching jobs open with the most recent opening coming in Orlando after Scott Skiles resigned as Magic head coach after just one season on Thursday.
Memphis, New York and Indiana are the other teams still searching for a new head coach.
