Daily Craig: 27 was one for the memory

HOUSTON – I dazzled thousands yesterday with my memory of SB 10. Today we hit the fast forward button to SB 27. The Cowboys and the Bills at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena 1993. Yes, we did allude to Pasadena, TX from time to time. The laughs just kept on coming. First of all, rain in So. Cal leading to the game had media day moving from THE ROSE BOWL to Dodger Stadium so we didn't screw up the playing field. We were interviewing the likes of Troy and others near 2nd base. And it was hot. And there were very few bottles of water. But I digress.

I had told Bills QB Jim Kelly I would get him highlights from his days with the HOUSTON GAMBLERS. He had no tape at all from the thrilling days of yesteryear.  I got help from our ace sports shooter, Rick McFarland and managed about 45 straight minutes of TD'S and interviews. Jim told me to bring it to his hotel room and we could do a ONE-ON-ONE EXCLUSIVE. He cleared us with security to get to his room. I knocked on the door and who answered? O.J. SIMPSON. O.J. was covering the game for NBC and my EXCLUSIVE went out the window. However, our story aired before Simpson's so it was very cool.Thurman Thomas was also there. He, of course, was a Willowridge alum and I HAD COVERED his killer days in high school, so it was buddy-buddy time. Kelly bought lunch. I liked that.

The Cowboys killed Buffalo 52-17 and the Bills had a first. THEY HAD NOW lost three straight SUPER BOWLS. I did manage to see Michael Jackson in person. I saw him do the sound check on Friday and later saw his half-time show. If that wasn't enough, I was having a drink with KENNY STABLER the day after the game and a beauty walked up to us and said.."Aren't you Craig Roberts from Ch. 2?".  The Snake was dazzled. I gotta remember some more stuff for tomorrow.
