Mattress Mack's Astros promotion refunds $4M to Gallery Furniture customers

HOUSTON – The Houston Astros got their 63rd win of the season and therefore avoided the dubious distinction of a fourth consecutive 100-loss season. And with the win comes a pretty cool prize for several lucky people.

About 500 customers from Gallery Furniture will get refunds of up to $6,300 apiece. It's all part of a contest for customers who believed that the Astros would win more than 63 games.

Now Gallery Furniture owner Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale is ready to refund the $4 million.

"I was watching the furniture game and somebody told me the Astros were behind, then they told me they had won. It's exciting. The Astros have been a come-from-behind team all year long. Congratulations to all the guys at the Astros, they've done a tremendous job with the team," said McIngvale.

He said the winning customers will get their refund in October. You may remember Gallery Furniture did a similar giveaway during the football playoffs and McIngvale refunded $8.2 million worth of furniture.
