SUGAR LAND, Texas – The Sugar Land Skeeters open their inaugural season in late April, but they won't be the first team to play in the new StarTex Power Field, according to sources with knowledge of discussions.
The Skeeters have not announced it yet, but teams from Fort Bend Independent School District campuses will take the field at the stadium on state Highway 6 near U.S. Highway 90A on April 21.

The Skeeters' season begins on April 26.
StarTex Power Field is owned by the city of Sugar Land. It has 21 suites, upper-level club seating, year-round entertainment space, a picnic deck, extensive playground facilities and more.
The stadium holds about 7,500 people for baseball, but it is expandable to 10,000.
The Skeeters will play 70 regular season games in the stadium annually.
