SUGAR LAND, Texas – Sugar Land's new minor league baseball team, the Sugar Land Skeeters, is looking for families to host players during the team's inaugural season.
Starting April 26, the Skeeters will begin the season at the forthcoming Constellation Field -- a $35 million facility being constructed by the team and the city. The team will be managed by former Major League All-Star Gary Gaetti.

The team needs area residents to house players during the season and provide them with a private bedroom, use of a bathroom, washer/dryer and kitchen.
"Our host family program is extremely important to the entire baseball operation," Director of Baseball Operations Michael Kirk said. "By hosting a player, you give that player, who is otherwise many miles away from their home environment and loved ones, a sense of home during the course of a long season."
Anyone who is interested in hosting a player should email an application to hostfamily@sugarlandskeeters.com.
