World champion Astros to visit White House on March 12

The Houston Astros celebrate defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in game seven to win the 2017 World Series at Dodger Stadium on November 1, 2017 in Los Angeles, California.

HOUSTON - The Houston Astros will visit the White House March 12 to be celebrated as World Series champions, the team announced Thursday.

A visit to 1600 Pennsylvania is a tradition for sports champions.

The Astros have an off day that day and will travel from Spring Training in West Palm Beach to Washington, D.C. to meet President Donald Trump.

Former 'Stros player Carlos Beltran said he will not attend the visit, according to NBC Sports.
